TOWNSHEND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IMMIGRATION PROJECT 2004/2005

The school wide theme for 2004/2005 was immigration. The students spent a great deal of time learning about all the people from so many countries that came to America looking for a better life. The end result of their studies was a simulation of immigrant arrival at Ellis Island. After that, most of the students took a trip to the real Ellis Island so they could see, first hand, the place where so many future citizens arrived on our shores.
