K.E.E.C Reflections

The theme at KEEC that we were talking about was communities cooperate. I thought a community was just a lot of people talking together. Then I learned it's a group of living organisms living and working together to survive. I thought going to KEEC was a great experience to learn about community because every day we cooperated like a community

I was a hopper for my job, which is basically a waiter. There is a set up in the kitchen of what you need to bring to your table like 8 plates or 8 bowls stuff like that. My favorite part about hopper was you got to leave before everyone else and see what was to eat.

I rock climbed for my first time. The first time I went up the wall was hard and somewhat high. I did about six more times and I was done. After my first time I was fine. The rock-climbing place had a small wall inside it. You didn't need a rope. You just needed a spotter. The staff at KEEC, if you were on the wall and you wanted to come down, wouldn't let you because they wanted you to feel good that you made it to the top.

I will remember the awesome staff, the awesome food, all the new people I met, the turtle Speedy, the cold but sometimes warm cabin, certainly last but not least all the FUN I had!

My favorite investigation was Pitch Pine Point. My group, and the leader hiked up it and he told us what plants we could eat. There was a root, I forgot what is was called but it tasted like cinnamon. Another thing I really liked was hiking up the rocks. There were a lot of steep rocks and I like climbing steep rocks. I learned that 200 years ago it was 80% farming 20% forest and now its 80% forest 20%
