The primary classes have been including seasonal activities related to our natural surroundings along with an early settlement theme. October found us at Green Mountain Orchard picking apples. This month we are investigating how seeds travel in the autumn and we will take part in a wild turkey program at Hildene in Manchester.
Some of our themes for the 2010-2011 school year will include:
All About me, trees,
seeds and soil, apples,
early settlement, pumpkins,
holidays, cranberries, bread,
sound, states of matter,
black history,
birds of prey,
and many, many seasonal activities.
The K-2 classes would like to involve our local community and resources as much and as often as possible. Please give us a call if you know of anyone who has a skill or craft they would like to shate with us that are related to these themes.
